Dental Assisting Institute of Melbourne is seeking a permanent Dental Assisting Instructor for our accelerated 10-week program that currently operates 2 classes 4 times a year; Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall. Our class is held on Friday evenings from 5p to 9p and all day Saturday from 8a to 5p in a practicing dental office in PALM BAY with a current class size of no more than 10 students per class. Instructors are responsible for presenting PowerPoint lectures for the first half of the class followed by teaching in the clinic for hands on learning for our students. This position will be paid on a full day ($340) or half day ($160-$200) salary before taxes. This position will begin with training during our Summer class which will begin on Saturday, June 29th.
Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:
Leading student lectures through already prepared PowerPoint presentations
Overseeing and instructing students during clinical hands-on training
Keeping track of classroom dental supplies and request more supplies when inventory is low
Collecting payment from students if students make payment in class
Setting up the classroom before class
Clean up after class and organize learning tools and dental supplies
Maintain control and organization of the dental practice in relation to the class
Requirements:
Must be a certified Dental Assistant
Must have at least 2 years of experience as a practicing Dental Assistant per the state of Florida, NO EXCEPTIONS
Must be enthusiastic with a passion to teach and lead others
Positive attitude
Must be able to work without direct supervision
Motivated, organized, responsible and professional
